Many organisations have devoted considerable time and resources on developing a set of core values to underpin the way they work.
In many cases once these values are “launched” they fail to result in the changes that have been expected and have limited impact. Too often employees feel that values are imposed on them rather than owned by them and as a result they are resisted or ignored.
Worse still, employees at all levels can feel that these values have hidden ulterior motives which will threaten their existing roles and responsibilities.
Our approach is to build awareness of and underpin values with the importance of treating yourself and others with maximum respect at all times. We highlight how this impacts upon everyone in their working day and demonstrate how “living the values” benefits everyone in an organisation.
The Forum Theatre approach is particularly valuable for clarifying how thoughtless behaviours can have a negative impact on us all, and allows employees to experience what an organisation that is truly living its values feels like.
